In brief: 3CX has made Enterprise Plus — previously reserved for large deployments — available to smaller installations. SA resellers can now upsell premium call centre and recording features to mid-market customers.
Enterprise Plus used to be reserved for large-scale 3CX deployments. That’s changed — and it opens the door to a meaningful upsell conversation with SME customers who’ve been missing out on advanced functionality.
3CX has extended availability of its Enterprise Plus licence tier to smaller deployment sizes, making it accessible for systems with 8, 16, 24, and 32 simultaneous call (SC) licences. Previously limited to larger deployments, Enterprise Plus is now within reach for the small-to-mid-sized businesses that make up a significant portion of most resellers’ customer bases.
What Does Enterprise Plus Include?
Enterprise Plus is 3CX’s premium licence level, designed for organisations that need the full depth of the platform’s capabilities. While 3CX supplies the full feature breakedown on their website, the tier generally unlocks advanced call centre and contact centre functionality, extended API access, enhanced reporting, and priority support options — features that have historically been out of reach for smaller deployments locked into Standard or Professional tiers.
Why This Matters for Resellers
The practical opportunity here is straightforward: upsell and renewal conversations just got easier for SME accounts.
Many smaller businesses running 8 or 16SC systems have been making do with Standard or Professional licensing, even when their actual needs — such as queue management, supervisor dashboards, or CRM integrations — would be better served by Enterprise Plus. The barrier has been licence-level gating.
With Enterprise Plus now available from 8SC upward, resellers can revisit those accounts with a genuine upgrade offer. The conversation is no longer “you’d need to grow into a bigger licence tier” — it’s “the features you actually need are now available at your current system size.”
This is also relevant at the point of sale for new SME prospects. Being able to lead with the full Enterprise Plus feature set, rather than positioning it as something they can “grow into later,” simplifies the pitch and removes a common objection.
Identifying the Right Customers
Not every 8SC customer needs Enterprise Plus — but some clearly do, and they may not know it’s now available to them. Look for customers who are:
- Running call queues but lacking visibility into queue performance or agent status
- Using 3CX in a customer-facing role (reception, support desk, sales team) where reporting and queue management genuinely matter
- Asking for CRM integration or advanced API access that their current tier doesn’t support
- Growing quickly and approaching the limit of their current licence — a tier conversation can happen at the same time as a capacity conversation
Pricing Considerations
Resellers should check current Enterprise Plus pricing for the new SC tiers through their 3CX distribution partner. As with all 3CX licences, annual renewal pricing will apply, so factor the total cost of ownership into your customer conversations and proposals.
The Bottom Line
The expansion of Enterprise Plus to smaller licence tiers reflects 3CX’s ongoing effort to make its most capable features more broadly available. For resellers, it’s a timely upsell opportunity — particularly relevant right now, given that many customers will already be going through a V18 upgrade conversation (see our separate article on the V18 End of Life). A system upgrade is a natural moment to review licence tier alongside the technical migration.
