March 2 – Microsoft introduced Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams, a partner initiative designed to simplify deployment of Teams Phone System. Operator Connect allows organizations to directly connect their Teams Phone System instance to certified Direct Routing providers, directly within the Teams Operator Console. Telecom staffs also can configure and assign phone numbers directly within Operator Console. The Operator Connect offering includes not just PSTN connectivity, but also managed infrastructure such as Session Border Controllers (SBCs) as well as technical support.
