Monitor call quality, control environment deletion, build failover VPN tunnels – all this and more in the PortaSwitch MR81 New Features Guide.

Call quality monitoring

Your administrators can now monitor the quality of customers’ calls using a set of metrics: delay, jitter, MOS and packet loss. PortaSIP collects these metrics during calls. The data are clearly displayed in customer xDRs as the call quality status, while the actual metrics values can be viewed in the xDR details.

By monitoring call quality, administrators can promptly identify and resolve network issues. This helps meet customer expectations about quality of service.

Controlled environment deletion

To speed up database performance, administrators can delete a billing environment with large amounts of obsolete data (e.g. millions of customers). Administrators can now control the deletion process – view its progress, estimate the remaining time, or stop deletion and restart it later. Thereby administrators can manage system load and avoid service degradation during data cleanup. Control of environment deletion is currently available for Oracle-based installations.

VPN redundancy for PortaSwitch® sites in the cloud and on premises

The VPN client in PortaSwitch allows the building of IPSec VPN tunnels to interconnect sites deployed on premises and in the cloud. A VPN endpoint for cloud-based site comprises two redundant IPSec tunnels, which can now be linked with the VPN endpoint on an on-premises site, with one tunnel defined as a failover. This ensures a backup connection to the cloud in case of disconnection during cloud maintenance, thus improving PortaSwitch®’s fault tolerance.
