The digital workplace has entered a new age as hybrid work is here to stay. To succeed, IT and business leaders must ensure reliable and secure access to applications that enable distributed workgroups to communicate and collaborate, regardless of work location. Even with the rapid rise in adoption of video-based meeting apps, phone systems are still a critical part of the communications suite and must be secured and optimized. Business and IT decision-makers must adopt and maintain an effective strategy to support employee communications and collaboration needs.
Specifically, they should:
- Plan for a hybrid future in which employees engage with one another, and with partners and customers, across both voice and video, from both home and on-site offices
- Ensure that UC and collaboration management strategies evolve to provide end-to-end visibility into voice and video performance, no matter employee location, across all applications and endpoint devices
- Implement a proactive collaboration security approach that establishes appropriate policies against all UC&C apps, and that leverages a dedicated security management platform to ensure consistent policy enforcement as well as attack mitigation and reporting.
- Adopt specialty tools that deliver insight into application performance and that allow IT managers to rapidly address (and prevent) performance-related issues that negatively impact productivity and business operations
