The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has released the final 2019 South African National and Provincial Election results.
On 8 May 2019 around 17.7 million South Africans cast their votes at 22,924 voting stations to select the new National Assembly and Provincial Legislatures.
The results showed a comprehensive victory for the ANC in the national elections with 57.5% of the vote.
The DA finished second with 20.8%, followed by the EFF on 10.8%, the IFP on 3.4% and the FF+ on 2.4%.
The ANC won eight of the nine provincial elections, with the DA winning the Western Cape – 55.4% of the vote.
