Avaya LLC, a renowned provider of customer experience solutions, has revealed the addition of three key executives to its leadership team. The announcement was made on June 16, 2023, coinciding with the Avaya ENGAGE event, the company’s flagship customer experience conference scheduled June 18 to June 21 in Orlando, FL.
The newly appointed executives, reporting to Alan Masarek, Avaya's Chief Executive Officer, are as follows:
- Amy O’Keefe – Chief Financial Officer (CFO): With over 30 years of financial expertise, Amy O’Keefe will lead the global finance organization. Her proven track record in driving business growth and maximizing profitability includes her previous role as CFO of WW International (formerly Weight Watchers International). O’Keefe also held CFO positions at Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, Savant Systems, D&M Holdings, and served as divisional CFO at Black & Decker.
- Omar Javaid – Chief Product Officer (CPO): Omar Javaid assumed the role of CPO on June 15, 2023, overseeing product strategy & management, strategic alliances, and technology partnerships. His past experience includes serving as SVP & GM at Qualcomm, President of the Nexmo API platform unit, and Chief Product Officer at Vonage. He has also held leadership positions at TV Guide International, TiVo, Google, Motorola, and Hewlett-Packard.
- Josh Mueller – Chief Marketing Officer (CMO): Joining Avaya on July 17, 2023, Josh Mueller will take on the responsibilities of CMO and General Manager of Hardware. His role will encompass worldwide marketing activities and Avaya’s hardware business, including Supply Chain, Procurement, and Devices. Mueller previously served as SVP and GM of the Portfolio Business Unit at NI (National Instruments), Chief Digital Officer at Vonage, and held marketing leadership roles at Dell Technologies and Dun & Bradstreet.
Mr. Masarek expressed his confidence in the potential of Avaya and the positive impact these experienced executives will have on the company’s leadership position in customer experience. The appointments reflect a strategic move as Avaya aims to solidify its presence in the competitive technology industry.
The new executives will participate in Avaya ENGAGE, where they will interact with over 3,000 Avaya customers, partners, thought leaders, and associates to explore customer experience innovations. The event, held at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort, featured approximately 90 keynotes and breakout sessions focused on building exceptional customer experiences, with insights into the future of customer experience technologies, including advancements in Artificial Intelligence. Notable customers, such as Wynn Resorts, Bayview Technologies, Give Kids The World, Global Payments, Concentrix, Seneca Foods Corporation, and Michigan State University, presented during the event.
