A new version of the Call Flow Designer (CFD) has just been released, bringing to the table extension numbers for CFD apps, Google TTS (Text to Speech) and STT (Speech to Text) options, a brand new Start Page, as well as lexicon and neural voice support for Amazon Polly. To enrich your CFD voice apps with these new features, install the latest 3CX v16 Update 6 and then download the new CFD install.

The new CFD introduces built-in support for Google’s TTS and STT voice services to make your voice apps multilingual, i.e. converting speech to text and vice versa. Leveraging its new capabilities enables you to implement advanced voice-driven solutions by:
- Speaking to Your Customers – Your CFD apps can now speak to your customers in their language
- Listening to your customers – Make your apps smarter by converting voice to text and use it as input or to control your CFD app’s flow.
Supporting more than 120 languages and variants, you can enhance your CFD apps with NLP (Natural Language Processing) capabilities to communicate with your customers around the world. Comprendez vous?

CFD Re-loaded
The latest CFD also adds:
- A new Start Page view with CFD info links, shortcut project actions, recent projects and featured components. This should help simplify your day-to-day work.
- New options for Amazon’s Polly with support for:
- Pronunciation lexicons, enabling you to customize the pronunciation of words in your CFD app.
- Neural voices so your CFD app TTS prompts can sound more natural to your customers.

You Have an App Call!
Your CFD apps can now have their own extension, so you can call or route calls to their extension in typical 3CX fashion. Provided that your PBX is running Update 6, open your voice app project with the new CFD and set it to a free extension when building your CFD app.
Get the New CFD
Install the new Call Flow Designer and the required 3CX V16 Update 6:
1. Download 3CX v16 Update 6 or update your PBX to this version via the built-in update function.
- Linux: 3CX v16 on Debian 9 ISO or Debian 10 Tech Preview ISO.
- Windows: 3CX v16 Update 6.
2. Download the CFD and install it, or update it using the instructions in the install guide.
