Hosted by 3CX: From 0 to 3CX in 15 seconds

V16 Update 6 introduced the all new hosted solution and today, we’re launching officially! With 3CX PBX hosting, we will manage your system by:

  • Deploying your instance and automatically configuring firewall and security rules.
  • Managing your 3CX operating system, including network and system management, security patches and upgrades (i.e. from Debian 9 to Debian 10).
  • Keeping your PBX updated at all times.
  • Monitoring datacenter, instance and SIP trunk availability, usage of system resources (CPU, RAM and Disc) and connectivity of SBC.

Datacenter: Digital Ocean

3CX does not maintain its own data center but instead has partnered with Digital Ocean to offer you a reliable and secure PBX hosting solution. Digital Ocean has 13 data centers worldwide and hosts over 78 million computing instances with an SLA of 99.99%. What’s more, 3CX instances use Digital Ocean’s so-called droplets, for speedy deployment and high performance.

Note: Digital Ocean’s base SLA does not account for downtime when your system is upgrading or receiving pre-communicated updates.

3CX offers its Standard Edition hosted free for the first year for up to 20 users. From there on out, hosting is available for PRO and ENTERPRISE subscriptions and is included in the yearly subscription fee. The ENTERPRISE edition offers a more powerful instance for customers making maximum use of 3CX.

In Need of Support?

What we will support:

  • Issues deploying the service via the customer portal.
  • Connectivity issues to/from the service (excluding STUN IP-Phones).
  • Issues relating to 3CX FQDNs, 3CX SMTP Service and WebMeeting.
  • Investigation of any crashes on the system.
  • Reset to a previous configuration of the system by customer request.

For everything else including:

  • General configuration of 3CX such as extensions and CRM integration.
  • Provisioning and operation of SIP trunks.
  • Configuration and management of IP phones.

Requirements/Limitations

  • IP phones must be configured behind a 3CX SBC. Consider using the smartphone apps instead for seamless remote working!
  • You cannot use CFD (Call Flow Designer) apps.
  • You must use a supported, register based, SIP trunk provider (see how to check).
  • You will not get SSH access to the machine – all operating system management is done by 3CX.

How to Switch to Hosted

New customers can select “Hosted by 3CX” whilst initiating the free trial. Current on-premise and self-hosted installations can make the switch directly from the Customer Portal. Simply click on “Switch to Hosted” under “My Subscriptions” and follow the steps. Read the manual here for more information on how to migrate. You can purchase a migration support ticket at any time in case of any issues.
