3CX V20 Update 7 Release Candidate 2: Enhancements and Fixes

After the successful launches of Alpha, Beta, and Release Candidate 1 (RC1), we are excited to announce the release of Update 7 Release Candidate 2 (RC2). This version addresses several minor fixes and enhancements, paving the way for a more stable final release. The primary goal of this update is to enhance the user experience by resolving critical issues that have been reported during the previous testing phases.
What’s New in Update 7 RC2?
The Update 7 RC2 brings a variety of fixes aimed at improving system reliability and functionality. These updates are essential for users who rely on 3CX for their business communications.
Key Fixes and Improvements
- Fixed an Admin Console crash that occurred due to incorrect user agents. This fix ensures that administrators can manage their systems without unexpected interruptions.
- Resolved a Call Manager crash that happened when a routing pointed to non-existent extensions, ensuring smoother call management.
- Addressed an issue where call pickup could cause agents not to be polled if a call was dropped by the Windows softphone.
- Fixed a reporting issue in Web Meetings where participants were incorrectly rejected by the organizer, enhancing meeting functionality.
- Corrected a problem where failures in OpenAI responses prevented other transcripts from being processed, improving the AI integration in meetings.
- Fixed the CDR output issue where the termination reason was incorrectly marked as “rejected” when calls were not processed.
- Resolved crashes in the Queue for User Requested No Answer scenarios.
- Fixed exceptions in User Confirmed Callback Requests, enhancing callback reliability.
- Addressed a Queue crash that occurred after SIP service termination, ensuring stability during service interruptions.
- Fixed a timeout crash issue that happened after QCB calls were stopped, ensuring better resource management.
- Corrected an issue where unheard voicemails were being purged during the Voicemail Cleanup process.
- Resolved connection issues in Web Meetings that occurred with custom MCUs after 8 days when the PBX updated.
Provider and Firmware Updates
In addition to the fixes mentioned above, there are firmware updates available for various devices. The following devices have received updates:
- T73U, T73W, T74U, T74W, T77U, T85W, T87W
Getting Started with Update 7 RC2
If you’re eager to test the new features and enhancements of Update 7 RC2, follow these simple steps to upgrade:
- Log in to the Admin Console.
- Navigate to System > Updates.
- Select New 20.0 Update 7 RC2 and click Download.
For users on Trials, NFRs, or 4SC instances hosted by 3CX, rest assured that these will be automatically updated to Update 7 RC2.
